Upcoming Events

The Treehouse, a Forest Garden School celebrates the cycles of the year through a rich and vibrant festival life.  Celebrating these festivals helps us to connect with the natural cycle of the Earth and establish a yearly rhythm for our children.  Through these festivals, the school cultivates community among children, teachers, parents and friends.

Festivals help us to nourish our souls through the sharing of stories, food, songs and activities linked to the seasons and expressed with beauty and reverence. In addition to the community-wide festivals listed here, teachers celebrate other festivals in the classroom, including those connected to different cultures being studied.

"A festival has the quality of lifting us out of the ordinary and into the mysteries and magic of the rhythm of the seasons."

December 13th ~ Winter Festival

Party from 5 - 6:30pm
Spiral Walks begin at 4:15

We saw our own inner light at the Lantern Walk, and now we will see our shared light reflected within the Winter Spiral. Join us for our annual Winter Festival on Friday December 13th for a gathering that will be rich with activities, socialization and singing; but the central event will be our Winter Spiral (also called Advent Spiral). Among soft candle-light and gentle harp music, the children go one by one through a spiral made of decorated greens and place their own candle on a star. Once they have all gone we see how our combined light creates brightness for everyone around us. Together, we will shine so brightly! We will have so many fun crafts and activities, like garland making, festive playdough, our Pocket People, and a magical gingerbread forest walk! The Spiral will begin with the Acorn classroom time slots at 4:45, and you may arrive in the Church Sanctuary for food and activities at 5pm.
