Oaks Co-Lead Teacher
I have been a Forest School teacher since 2015 and love nothing more than sharing the wonder of nature and joy of discovery with children. I am a certified Forest Kindergarten Teacher through Cedarsong Nature School and have completed Forest School Teacher Training with the Child and Nature Alliance of Canada (CNAC) and the Eastern Region Association of Forest and Nature Schools (ERAFANS). I received my BA in Environmental Studies/Geography from Western Washington University, and through my studies gained a passion for Place-Based education. I believe in the inherent creativity, curiosity and wonder of childhood, and do all I can to protect and support these elements in my teaching.
I have lived most of my life in the Pacific Northwest, and have a deep love for the rain and all that grows from it, in particular the ferns, moss, lichens, and fungus that add texture and color to our forests. In my free time I love hiking, visiting the ocean, bird-watching, nature journaling, practicing yoga and playing music.
I am excited to have found in The Treehouse a school community that honors the whole child and supports learning through play, authentic connection, and creative exploration. I look forward to contributing to and learning from this beautiful community.
